Gentle rains alternating with a bright overcast sky, and the high temps today may come close to reaching 70... And with our Gallery door propped open, I listen to the sounds of our local Perigrine Falcons. Newly fledged from their nestbox on the bank building in the next block west, the youngsters are exploring the skies over downtown today with guidance of the watchful parents. Mama falcon spent some time perched on the satelite dish across the street, watching her brood - amazing how these denizens of the wild river valley cliffs have adapted to urban living ! Just the other day, a mallard drake flew ahead of my vehicle a few feet above & ahead of me as I drove down Main Street to the parking ramp. I turned in to park, he flew on toward Riverside Park, another block beyond... Our sidewalk chairs are out under the awning today, and many visitors have enjoyed them for viewing the aerial exhibition. New to "blogging", not sure how often we'll post, or which directions the content will wander. Thank you for taking the time to explore our corner of world. |
